There are many people in the United States who don’t have medical coverage.
There are a few reasons why this is the case:
1) Independent Contracting - a few years ago, there was a surge in the hiring classification of individuals looking to get hired on at major companies. Some of these companies hire people as “independent contractors” who are not regular full-time employees. This means that they are not privy to the company’s benefits, which includes medical USA general insurance most of the time. Sometimes these contracts are for a year or longer, so in lieu of providing benefits, the salaries (or contracted payment) is a bit higher than a full-time employee.
2) Part-time work- Some people are unable to find permanent part-time work. So in an effort to make ends meet, they accept either one or two part-time jobs. Or they take a part-time job and work overtime to make ends meet. Most companies state that in order to receive medical benefits, a total of 30 hours or more must be worked. Since part-timers usually work less than this, no benefits are available.
3) Unemployment- Perhaps the biggest reason that people don’t have medical coverage is because they are unemployed. (Self-explanatory).
